RCGI Youth team
Members of RC Gros Islet proudly sponsored the youth team made up of juniors from the Grow Well golf programme.  RCGI has been involved in promoting junior golfers from the community of Gros Islet for several years.  In fact, many of the low handicap golfers have learned golf and been exposed through this very tournament over the last twenty three years.  We express our appreciation for the work done by Colleen Newman and Susan Guillaume, and others with the youth team and with Grow Well in general.

The funds raised from this tournament will be utilized in the many projects being undertaken by the Rotary Club of Gros Islet, some of which are listed below:
  • Micro credit for economically disadvantaged farmers who have been adversely affected by weather events
  • Scholarships for trainees at CARE
  • Support for Grow Well
  • Support for organizations dedicated to the differently able children with conditions  such as Autism, Dyslexia, Cerebral Palsy, in particular working with the child Guidance and Development Centre
  • Support for Good News Foundation in supplying basic housing for the indigent
  • Dental treatment for disadvantaged children at schools in the north in collaboration with the Ministry of Health
  • Support for the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International
    • This year we sent funds to support Dominica after hurricane Erika
    • Last year we assisted in the recovery effort in Nepal and in Vanuatu
Corporate Saint Lucia and Bank of Saint Lucia & Bank of Saint Lucia International in particular as Title Sponsor for this tournament have made to work that the Rotary Club of Gros Islet does, year in and year out possible.  On behalf of the less fortunate we say THANK YOU.
